Lifeform Studio
At Lifeform, we’re driven by a passion to combine timeless design, craftsmanship, and personal expression into unique spaces and furniture pieces. Rooted in a love for art, music, and innovative woodworking, our goal is to craft environments that inspire and elevate everyday life.
A Journey Through Art and Sound
My journey began with a deep curiosity for music and design—a passion I nurtured independently from a young age. As a child, I was captivated by DJing, spending hours in the garage with turntables, spinning trance records into the quiet neighborhood night. I imagined crowds dancing along as I played tracks from artists like Paul Van Dyk, crafting speaker systems from library manuals and notebooks filled with Thiele/Small parameters in pursuit of the perfect sound. Even then, I realized I had a knack for DJing before I was skilled with tools.
Seeking to deepen my technical knowledge, I attended Mobile Dynamics in Tempe, AZ, earning a top-ranked MECP license. This led me into the world of car audio—building larger-than-life subwoofers and immersing myself in the latest sound equipment. During college, I worked in local stereo shops and continued to DJ at night, eventually turning my passion into a career.
The music scene evolved, and I found myself behind bigger stages—hosting shows at local bars and eventually touring globally with my band “One More Time: A Tribute to Daft Punk.” Those years of performing, touring, and connecting with industry icons were unforgettable. With a growing family and a desire for a different rhythm, I made the decision to shift gears and pursue a new creative path.
From Music to Craftsmanship
Rediscovering my love for woodworking, I joined Urban Plough in Phoenix—an inspiring, intimate shop where I learned the craft of fine carpentry and fabrication. Over a few years, I progressed from a hands-on fabricator to project lead, managing everything from conceptual design to installation.
Later, moving to Portland, I joined Superfab, a larger, innovative workshop. There, I refined my skills in project management, CNC machining, and client collaboration. Notably, I contributed to the redevelopment of the Portland International Airport’s terminal—the largest mass timber project on earth. Though that venture ended unexpectedly, the experience strengthened my expertise in sustainable practices, large-scale fabrication, and design innovation.
The Next Chapter
After Superfab, I found myself yearning to create again—to bring my diverse experiences into projects that truly resonate. While many woodworking studios focus solely on traditional furniture, I wanted to push boundaries and craft pieces that blend music, modern design, and artisanal craftsmanship.
Today, at Lifeform Studio, I pursue that vision. I design and build high-quality custom furniture, studio integrations, DJ booths, and curated home accessories. Each piece reflects my dedication to quality, sustainability, and a contemporary aesthetic.
